of Nashua, NH; 73

NASHUA, NH -- Albert J. "Al" Egan, Jr., 73, resident of Nashua, NH, died on December 4, 2014 at the Community Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.

Al was born in Hartford, CT, on December 20, 1940, son of Albert J. Egan, Sr., and Beatrice (Meagher) Egan.

He attended Fitchburg State College and Lowell Tech., joined the Army and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant.

Al grew up in Billerica and Chelmsford, MA. He is a 1958 graduate of Chelmsford High School where he was class president and a member of the varsity basketball and baseball teams. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling, tennis, woodworking and reading.

His work experience included 11 years with Nashua Corporation, 3 years with Itek Corporation and 11 years with Hertz Corporation, Corporate Leasing Division as a Senior Vice President. Later, he retired from Snowden Associates as Vice President of Corporate Retained Search.

Al was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by a son, David John Egan in 2012, and stepmother, Eveline (Atkinson) Egan, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gordon and Jacqueline Olmsted.

Family members include his wife, Audrey (Olmsted) Egan, to whom he was marred for 51 years, a daughter, Carolann Egan of Nashua, a son, Michael Egan and his wife Christine of Manchester, NH, three grandchildren, Arielle Egan and Ryan Egan of Leicester, MA, Benjamin David Egan of Manchester, NH; two great-grandchildren, Rowan Egan and Avery Egan of Leicester, MA, a sister, Joanne (Egan) Hobson and her husband Peter of Medford, MA, a daughter-in-law, Susan Egan of Leicester, MA, a sister-in-law, Karen (Olmsted) Mars and her husband John of Somersworth, NH, and three nieces and a nephew.

EGAN -- Arrangements are in the care of the Davis Funeral Home, One Lock Street, Nashua, New Hampshire. As were his wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral service. His ashes will be spread at the convenience of the family. There will be a celebration of life held at The Crowne Plaza, 2 Somerset Parkway, Nashua, NH on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 2pm to 5pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Home Health and Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Dr., Merrimack, NH 03054.
