James Higson Obituary
Prior to his retirement at Raytheon's South Lowell plant, Mr. Higson was the president of the former Trio Ceramics, and had also worked for more than 20 years at the Chelmsford Highway Department.
He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was an avid New England Patriots football fan, and enjoyed bowling, visiting Walt Disney World and decorating his house during the Christmas season.
He is survived by four daughters, Kimberly and her husband Jan Marson, Kristine and her husband Paul McNeil, all of Lowell, Jennifer and her husband Scott Levasseur of Dracut and Jessica Simard of North Chelmsford; three sons, James Higson III and his wife Pamela, John Higson and his wife Michelle, all of Lowell and David and Andrea Higson of Auburn, Maine; four sisters, Rita and her husband Harold Verge of Lowell, Karen Landry of North Chelmsford, Mary Gail and her husband Kenneth Axon of Rumney, N.H. and Ann Marie and her husband Thomas Boland of Cheyenne, Wyo.; four brothers, Edward "Ned" Higson and his wife Linda of Hampton Beach, N.H., Michael Higson and his wife Donna of Nashua, Kevin Higson of Manchester, N.H. and William Higson of Lowell.
He is also leaves a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Karen Bellemare of Nashua; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

HOW Can it be 15 years, it seems like yesterday. we all miss you so and think of you each day. the grandchildren are all grown up and the two young ones hear your name often and think you were very silly. we tell them GRUMPY stories all the time.

another Christmas without you, I cann't believe that this is the 3rd Christmas since you left us. It seems like just yesterday you were decorating our home,every room and outside like the north pole. 2 years since you left us,seems like a million years. I miss you more each day and those who say it gets easier,do not know what they are talking about. I still cannot lisen to country music,it makes me cry.I still look for you and am surprised when you are not here. I know the holidays are here by all I see all around me, but to me it is just another day. I miss you more each day, and when they say it gets easier they do not know what they are talking about,I miss you so much it hurts and I can not go anywhere where people are happy,it just makes me sader,to think that I will never see you, because I know that I will never be truly happy again. Dad,
I love and miss you so much. I think about you every day. Your picture I keep beside me always, along with Moms and my father in laws. Your faces our the first ones I see every day when I get up, and the last ones I see every night when I go to bed.
The pain of my loss will always be there, but the pictures give me some comfort, and help me get through every day, one day at a time.

I know it's been a little while since Grampy died but his memory is still fresh in all of our minds. When he passed, a large part of all of our lives passed with him. He is in heaven smiling down on all of us. We all loved him and will continue to love him until we meet him again at the gates of heaven.

Jessica has made it possible for us to keep adding to Jim's guest book. She made sure we could all just get on this site and tell our storys, about Jim's life,how much we all miss him and so we could just all know that it is ok to miss someone so bad it hurts, just leave a note,,maby,just maby Jim will get to read our thoughts.

Just wanted to send a little note along, saying that Jim was a fighter all the way, and I am sure I am speaking for all the family and friends to say Thank You to Linda, and all the family for letting us be with Jim and hopefully to be able to make his last days as enjoyable as possible and most of all to allow us to make sure that Linda, as well as Jim were not alone in those really hard days, and I am sure it will make Jim happy to know that Linda will always have all of us there, whenever she needs us, to help her through this, after all family always stick together, I know Jim's spirit is watching over Linda, as we all know that is Jim's way, (you didn't think u could get away that easy huh Linda lol)well so much for a little note, at least we know Jim is at peace now, his suffering is over, and he is in a better place. Linda and family,
Many things can be said of Jim but that comes to mind is courage, unselfishness. Courage in sickness,he never complained, even when the going got tough. Unselfishness by opening his door to all of us to share time with all of you. We were truely blessed to have Jim touch our lives. He is a hero to us and will be to his children, grandchildren and all who knew him. WE will keep him close to our heart and always be there for you and the family.

Dear Linda,
I have never met you but, Kim & Krissy I've known for a very long time. They babysat for me when my children were just babies.My children are now grown with babies of their own.They are great girls. I also knew the boys but, was closer to Kim & Krissy.I just wanted to say to all of you that I'm sorry for your loss and hope your all doing okay at a very difficult time. My dear husband James was very sick with cancer, but no one knew it. James looked good and felt good dispite the fact that he had cancer. Everyone always said you look good and he always said I ALWAYS LOOK GOOD. He was a joy to all of us. He loved life and did not want to die. James gave it a great fight, he lasted much longer than anyone thought he would.
Rest in peace for you did a great job with your family,friends,and the nurses and doctors who took care of you.
