Upon his retirement, Dan became a financial advisor to a local philanthropist where he assisted in developing financial reporting for the Elkhart Community Foundation. All during these years, Dan was also proud to work on various City of Elkhart organizations.

In his spare time, Dan was highly interested in sports, particularly with Notre Dame and the White Sox, being an avid lifelong fan of both teams. He also enjoyed travelling and spending winters in Orange Beach, Alabama.

Most importantly, family was everything to Dan and he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them and the friends he made along the way. Dan, along with all the love and joy he shared, will be dearly missed by those whose hearts he touched throughout his life.
