Denis Earley Obituary
Denis James Earley, age 64, was taken to the Lord Sept. 1, 2022.
He is survived by his sister, Patricia Earley-Innis; brothers, John Earley and Dan Earley; aunt, Kathleen "Murphy;" uncle, Norman Nicholson; numerous nieces; nephews; too many Chesterton High School friends to count; and loving wife, Carol Earley with her family clan of Benedickts.
Denis was a brilliant, boisterous, brave, generous, caring, handsome man with strong faith. He was a fourth degree with the Knights of Columbus, a general ham radio operator, an active outdoorsman who also enjoyed going to church, metal detecting, rebuilding watches, auto mechanics, reading, visiting friends and caring for his brother, John. Denis was an all-around fine man and exemplary husband. He will be missed.
Denis, please rest in peace in the arms of the Lord.
Funeral information: Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 411 W 11th Street, Michigan City, with Rev. David Kime officiating. Burial will follow at 12 noon at St. Patrick's Cemetery, 825 S. Calumet Road, Chesterton, Indiana. A viewing will be held on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. A celebration of life luncheon will be held on Monday following services at the cemetery at 12:15 p.m. at Gelsosomo's Pizzeria, 371 Indian Boundary Road, Chesterton, Indiana.
The Root Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Denis was my landlord. A very caring man. Sorry for the family loss. Could not go to the funeral. My cousin also passed away.

I only knew Denis for a short time as he was my landlord. A great guy who would help out anyone . Great caregiver to his brother John which he spoke of frequently. Rest In Peace .

Denis was so full of life! Always smiling and helping people out. He had a great sense of humor and was very engaging, no one was a stranger. I have known him since he was about 6 yrs old, we grew up in the same neighborhood. He was good friends with my brother and his wife. Denis hired my son to remodel a house turned into an apartment building, He will be truly missed and prayers for his family while they are grieving for Denis

I have been friends with both Denis and John for years. I especially remember working with them at the ski shop in the Pines. This is such a sad day for the family. May you rest in peace Denis, my friend.

Denis was a good friend and will be sorely missed. His obituary described him well. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends for this incredible loss. Prayers continue for his family after this horrific tragedy.
