Marshall Gene Stanley went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the age of 58, in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Marshall grew up in Michigan City, Indiana. He attended Rogers High School. He was the ninth of 10 children born to Jim Stanley Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Hawkins Stanley.
Marshall was preceded in death by his father and mother; his sister, Marilyn Stanley Benson; and his brother, Jerry Stanley. Marshall is survived by his sisters, Shirley Stanley Bonner, Janice Johnson (John) and Julie Kargbo (Abdul); and his brothers, James Stanley III, Alvin Stanley and David Stanley (Stacie), all of Minnesota, and Dennis Stanley of Indiana. Marshall also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and an army of greater family members who loved him so, and who will miss him dearly.
Marshall was a truly devout Christian of strong faith and spirit. Marshall was highly pragmatic, while being kind, principled and humble. He was an amazing, adventurous "man of the people" and he avidly enjoyed engaging with humanity. Marshall spoke several languages, and he actively demonstrated proficiency in various cultures, including Spanish, Hmong, Japanese, Korean, Somali, Ethiopian and others.
Marshall worked mostly as a market researcher for Decision Resources of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Also, he was a gifted and talented artist.
A Celebration of Life for Marshall will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, with Viewing and Service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Spielman Mortuary Chapel, 344 W. University Ave., Saint Paul, Minnesota 55103.

I will always remember Marshall Stanley as being our funny, sweet, artistically eccentric uncle. I will always treasure him in my heart forever and I know that there will never be another person like him. I thank GOD that my sister and I were able to grow up with him, to know him in general. We will miss you dearly, Uncle Marshall

Sending love and prayers to the entire family. The Stanley Family was our family growing up as kids along with the Williams, Amico's, and the Jenkins. My brother Curtiss and Marshall were very good friends growing up and i know he is going to be hurt when he finds out. RIH Marshall
