Samson Benjamin Obituary
Dr. Samson Adam Benjamin, 81, of Claremont, California, died peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, after a prolonged illness.
Samson was born in Gary, Indiana, and practiced as an ObGyn for 32 years in Crawfordsville and La Porte. He was a faithful husband, a devoted father and a doting grandfather. His caring, generosity and quick wit will be dearly missed.
Samson is survived by his wife, Jeanne Evelyn Benjamin; and his children, Samson "Ben" Benjamin Jr (Marcella Zita), Arika Benjamin (Jesse Metzger), and Jake (Kate) Benjamin; as well as his eight grandchildren, Gina Gonzales, Mika Benjamin-Uyeki, Tadashi Uyeki Benjamin, Sasha and Shanton Metzger, Adrian, Evelyn and Quinn Benjamin. He is also survived by his twin brother, Samuel (Maria) Benjamin; and his sister, Leona Kelaita; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in passing by his father, Adam; his mother, Margaret; his siblings, Adam Jr., Myron, Daniel and Lilia Arzumenian; and his brothers-in-law, Jake Arzumenian and Johnson Kelaita.
He was a loving husband, a devoted father and a doting grandfather. His caring and generosity and quick wit will be dearly missed.
An intimate service was held at St. Mary's Assyrian Church in Tarzana, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice or to the Fuller Center for Housing: The Fuller Center, PO Box 523, Americus, GA, 31709.

My condolences to Sam's family. I met Sam as fellow Ace Hardware Dealers. Our 2 stores were in the Gary, IN. market. But, I was an Emerson H.S. grad and knew Don, Joe and David very well!

Dr. Benjamin saved my mothers life in 1979 in Crawfordsville. She had to have multiple procedures which he conducted after I was born. I will be forever grateful for him, as I wouldn´t have a mother today without him. Thank you Dr. Benjamin. The Robert Bowes Family, Crawfordsville.

I was Jake's first grade teacher at Crichfield School. He was an amazing student!
Jeanne would volunteer in our classroom often. I would often get surprise visits from Dr. Benjamin, too! His favorite time to visit was on "party" days. He loved playing the games with the first graders, so did Jeanne. I was blessed with 2 wonderful helpers who prioritized education!

Dr. Benjamin was a wonderful man and doctor! He delivered my Triplets and I named one of them after him! I loved him so very very much! Every time I seen him we would give each other a hug and he would listen to my stories about my children!

Dr. Benjamin and I had a rocky start with me as his patient... but we worked through that and became buddies! His compassion and level of care he took of me and my daughter during delivery will NEVER be forgotten. I would see him outside of my annual office visit from time to time and he always knew how to put a smile on my face... I´ve missed him since his retirement and speak of him often. I´m so thankful I was blessed to have him as my Dr as well as my friend.
To his Wife abd his Family, sending my sincerest condolences and while I know nothing can take away the hurt when losing a loved one, I´m hopeful that knowing how much of a difference he made in so many lives provides you with some comfort during this most difficult time.

He was my doctor in LaPorte,IN He listened to me when I was having female problems. Then I got deathly sick from another issue. I was so sick when I woke up to him pulling on my toes to wake up. I was told that he had been there a while. That made me feel special. He even took a call from me asking for my records after he retired. We had a nice talk and he said he enjoyed my call. Thank you for being there for me .Rest high in Heaven.

Dr. Benjamin delivered both of my children. I have fond memories as both my children were born early. I was sad when he told me he was retiring. He has been missed, and will continue to be missed. Dr Benjamin delivered both my babies in LaPorte. He was the best! Always calm even when delivering my preemie and I was an emotional mess. I had the upmost confidence in him. So sad to hear of his passing and my condolences to his family.

I will always fondly (and laughingly- seeing Dr B in his short shorts!) remember our Saturday morning car washing sessions that we all "loved!". Dr Benjamin also taught all of us kids the importance of hanging the large bulb old-fashioned Christmas lights since the small modern ones just weren´t as good! He was like a second father to me. I knew if we got in trouble in Valleywood- it would be handled right there- extra cleaning jobs- no parents were called. I could not be sorrier to hear of his passing. All my love to Arika, Benny, Jacob, Mrs Benjamin and family. I have the best memories from your house!

So sorry to read about Sam passing away. He and his brother were in the same class as me Emerson 1960 but I believe moved before graduation. He was also the same nationality as my first husband George Alexander. I remember most of his family. My condolences and prayers for the family.
