Sharon Kathleen "Kathy" Kennedy, age 77, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022. She was born on Nov. 5, 1944, in Michigan City to Henry and Coralbelle (Stantz) Robbins, who preceded her in death.
Kathy married the love of her life, Rick Kennedy, on Nov. 9, 1963, in New Buffalo, Michigan. They resided in Rolling Prairie, Indiana. Together they have three daughters, Richelle (Bruce) Wilke, Raelene (John) Jurkowski and Laura (Darrell) Garbacik; seven grandchildren, Kristin, Greg, Katlin (Jimmy), Samantha, Paige, Drake and Dayne; great-granddaughter, Remi; and sister, Shirley Kindig; sister-in-law Sandy Robbins; and brother-in-law, Joe Felker. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews with whom she loved spending time.
Kathy was also preceded in death by her brother, Henry "Sonny" Robbins; and sisters, Selma Zimmerman, Norma Foster, Henrietta Felker and Coral Miller.
Kathy grew up in a close-knit family, and she and her siblings were quite the crew. They enjoyed each other and remained close throughout their years together. In turn, Kathy cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. And Kathy possessed an innate sense and bond with her dogs and all dogs – she was the dog whisperer of the family.
Kathy loved her family and friends. She had friends that were family. Kathy's special inner circle includes beloved lifelong friends Diane Egilske and her "other big sisters" Janice White and Sue Downs. Kathy will be missed by her family and friends, and dogs everywhere!
Kathy loved to travel (just not by plane), and she enjoyed playing cards and games; she also enjoyed puzzles, "the bingo," dice or slots. In turn, Kathy created a lifetime of memories with the ones she loved, doing the things she enjoyed most.

A Celebration of Kathy's Wonderful Life with her family and friends will be announced at a future date.
