Guy Chambless Obituary

Guy Chambless, III, -SUMMERVILLE - Mr. Guy Chambless, III, age 60, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday afternoon in a Rome hospital. Memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Mr. Lee Guery, Rev. Art Graves and Dr. Steve Andrews officiating. -He was born in Randolph County, Georgia on October 7, 1944 to the late Guy Chambless, Jr. and the late Claire Woodruff Chambless. Mr. Chambless was a member of the Summerville First United Methodist Church; was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during Viet Nam and was stationed with the Mortuary Affairs at Dover, Delaware. He was Georgia licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer serving in the funeral profession for 25 years; most recently has worked in health related fields-the last four years with Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome. Mr. Chambless was preceded in death by a sister the late Alison Chambless Carter. -Surviving are his wife, Edie Chambless; son and daughter-in-law, Guy IV and Jennifer Chambless; granddaughters, Ella Claire Chambless and Emmie Chambless all of Rome; sisters and brothers-in-law, Merlyn and Lee Guery of Cordele, Susan Hickox, Kay and Morris Hickox all of Nahunta; brother, Joel Chambless of Nahunta; several nieces and nephews. - Visitation will be Tuesday from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home Summerville, Georgia.
