To the Anderson Family:
We lived across the street from Joey and his brother Buddy (Rudy Jr.) in Pine Point. Please accept our deepest sympathies on the loss of Joey. He was a few years older than me, but his athletic heroics were well known. Few people might remember that Joey was a member of the first Little League All-Star Team from Maine to go to the Little League World Series, in 1951.

Beth and family, my heart goes out to you in this time of great sadness. We can take solace in knowing that Joe is now in a place free of pain. I regret very much in not being able to see Joey again before his passing. We were close pals at Rocky Hill school, oh so many years ago.

I wish I would have known Joey longer than his final 3 years, however I'm grateful for the opportunity to know such a strong and special man. He must have been an amazing lobsterman who handed such knowledge and values down to Jeff. My thoughts remain with all of you.
Lovingly,
Bill Stevens

To the Anderson family,
I was sorry to receive the sad news. I grew up with Joe in our neighborhood in Westbrook until he moved to Scarborough at about the age of 10. All of us who grew up with him there remember him fondly and of the early years of sledding on Longley Road in winter and baseball in the summer. My sincerest condolences to the family.

Dear Beth,
My deepest sympathy and condolences to you and your family.
Joe was a best friend and fun loving Scarborough '57 classmate of mine. I have many great memories of our times together and will long remember our last class reunion and our laughter over things we did in our youth. My heartfelt prayers to you.

Beth, Jeff, and Jen,
Our heartfelt condolences to you and your families. We found "Cousin Joe" after his dad died and it seemed we had been "best friends" since childhood. The brief time that remained in our renewed friendship passed by much too quickly. Joe was and always will be a hell of a guy. My only regret is that our renewed friendship was so brief. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. We are away in Florida until April and will miss the memorial service, but Joe will remain my friend, and be in our thoughts forever. Dear Beth, Jen and Jeff,
I am so sorry for your loss. Joe was such a fun-loving man with many wonderful qualities. It was always a pleasure to see him over the years. I have many fond memories of spending time at the motel hanging around with Jen and always welcomed by Joey and Beth! I hope that your memories will comfort you over time. My deepest sympathies to you all.
