Zachary Herman Obituary
AGE: 18 • Wall Twp.
Zachary J. Herman 18 of Wall Township passed away on Thursday September 29, 2016. He was born in Brick, NJ and raised in Wall, NJ. He graduated from St. Denis School in Manasquan, attended Donovan Catholic High School and graduated from Wall Township High School. While at Donovan Catholic he participated in football, was on the track and cross country teams, in the stock club and the surf club. Zach was a salesman at T & T Coast GMC Buick in Wall, and being an entrepreneur at heart he managed his own mobile auto detailing business. Zach will always be remembered as a legendary story teller, his ability to brighten your day and most importantly his joyful smile. He loved everything outdoors, especially fishing and surfing. He enjoyed music and spending time with his family and friends.
Zachary was predeceased by his father Michael in 2010 and his grandmother Dorothy "Nana" Donechie in 2010. He is survived by his loving mother Jamie, and his best friend brother Michael. He is also survived by his grandfather James "Poppy" Donechie, his great aunt Jane Wehner, his uncles Craig and James Donechie, and his aunts Laura Altman and Patricia Pacheco and many loving cousins and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday October 3, 2016 from 1 pm to 3 pm and 5 pm to 9 pm at the Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday October 4, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Denis Church 90 Union Ave. Manasquan. Interment will follow at St. Anne's Cemetery, Wall Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Common Ground Grief Center, 67 Taylor Avenue Manasquan. To send condolences to the family or obtain directions to the funeral home please visit www.oren derfamilyhome.com.

His fascination with Italy, the land of my birth, kindled the warmest conversations between us. As we spent a week camping with his group, his infectious enthusiasm never failed to bring a radiant smile to my face. To me, he was more than just a friend; he was my hero.

I only knew Zach for a short time as a "little guy" but will never forget his shy but friendly smile.

It was my honor and pleasure to have Zack in my Religion class at Donovan Catholic High School. His infectious smile and gift of laughter made it a true joy knowing him. Ah, Zachary, your light will always shine bright in our memories. I'll never forget making our Kindergarten movie, with you dressed up in your fishing gear, pretending to fish out of a small wooden boat on the St. Denis School lawn, proudly "catching" paper fish. It was so hilarious!! You will be genuinely missed, Zak.
