Benson, NC: Mr. A.G. Johnson Jr., age 75, passed away on Sunday August 25, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM-Friday, August 30, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC. Rev. Virgil Murphy and Rev. Glenn McCullen will officiate.
Mr. Johnson was born on February 21, 1949 in Harnett County, NC to the late Archie Green and Eunice Tart Johnson. Alongside his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Sherry Johnson, daughter, Wendy Johnson Doyle, son-in-law, Edward Allen Raynor, Jr., brothers, Jack Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, Tom Johnson, and Luther “Rock” Johnson. Mr. Johnson owned and operated A.G. Johnson Drywall. He loved his family, racing, hunting, and his church family.
Survivors include his wife, Francine L. Johnson, daughter, Stephanie Johnson Raynor and Eddie Longhany of Benson, NC; special son, Johnathan Riddle and wife, Shelley of Newton Grove, NC; grandchildren, Alyssa Murdoch, Michael Murdoch, Kasey Doyle, Piper Doyle, Johnson Raynor, Jennings Longhany, Tycen Jordan, Jericho Jordan, Virginia Leonard, Emma Leonard, Amelia Leonard, and Parker Riddle; sisters, Louie Belle McLamb, and Annie Laura Lee both of Benson, NC; step-children, Samantha Baker and Kevin Jordan of Benson, NC, and Faith Leonard and husband, Ashley of Mebane, NC; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM Thursday August 29, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC, and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to the NC Alzheimer’s Association 5171 Glenwood Ave, Suite 101, Raleigh, NC 27612.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Liberty Home Health and Hospice of Smithfield, NC.
