A. Ridner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beckman-Williamson Funeral Homes & Crematory - Viera on Apr. 18, 2025.
Joan Ridner, age 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025. She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Cananda. She was raised in the Detroit area by parents John Henry and Imelda (Desrochers) Watson. She did not discover her Canadian citizenship until she attempted to register to vote at age 18.
She met Robert "Bob" Ridner who had recently moved to Detroit, and they married in May 1952. She was preceded in death by Bob just shy of their 65th anniversary in 2017. She and Bob raised their 3 children in Livonia, MI and eventually retired to Melbourne Beach in 2004.
A true extrovert, Joan would strike up a conversation easily with almost anyone. In addition to being the Office Manager for their cabinet business, she worked as a bookkeeper and in retail sales. Joan was a gifted vocalist who performed on the local radio in her youth, and she was also a wonderful artist.
In addition to Bob, she was preceded in death by her sister Helen, daughter Cindy Range, and daughter-in-law Kathi Ridner. She is survived by sons Gary (Sheila) and Timothy (Christine) Ridner, son-in-law Jon Range, and grandchildren Conner (Brandi), Olivia (Manny), Jacob (Andrea) and Alexa, and great grandchildren Juniper and Luca.
An internment ceremony will be held at a later date.

To my cousins, Tim anpd Gary, please accept my condolences on the passing of your mother. To Aunt Joan, I didn't know you well, but Mama always said you were a real lady. I hope you and Uncle Gene (Mama always called Uncle Bob, Gene) are together and happy. Love, Dawna Sue (Wilder) Cross
