Aaron Douglas JOY

AARON DOUGLAS JOY was born April 6, 1995, in Osage Beach, Missouri and departed this life November 4, 2025, in Sedalia, Missouri, at the age of thirty years.

After graduating from Lebanon High School in 2013, Aaron went on to attend State Tech in Linn, Missouri, where he obtained his Associates Degree as an Industrial Electrician.

In January of 2016, Aaron joined the Army National Guard and proudly served our country until his honorable discharge after six years and five days of service. He earned the rank of Private First Class (PFC.) He was a decorated soldier and earned several medals, badges, commendations, citations and campaign ribbons over the years. Aaron was proud of his service time and treasured the relationships he shared with his fellow servicemen.

Most recently, Aaron had been employed as a Lieutenant at Tipton Correctional Center.

Aaron enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He loved riding horses and in younger years, attended horse riding camp. He loved hunting, fishing and golf. He also enjoyed going to concerts and playing corn hole. He was a Kansas City Chiefs football fan and an active member of the Moose Lodge in Sedalia. He had many friends and cherished each of them. However, nothing was more important to him than time spent with family.

He is survived by: his parents, Becci and Dwight Crowder; girlfriend, Shelly Raines of Sedalia; maternal grandparents: Karen and James Winfrey of Lebanon; paternal grandparents: Dennis and Ann Crowder of Lebanon; uncles: Jeff Winfrey and wife Stacie of Lebanon; Darren Crowder and wife Lisa of Bolivar; aunt: Jessica Jones and husband Joe of Denton, Texas; several cousins, other family and many friends.

Aaron was deeply loved by his family and friends. Our hearts are broken. For now, we will hold tight to the moments we shared to keep his memory alive.

Memorial Service for Aaron will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 6:00 P.M., at Shadel's Colonial Chapel.

Visitation will begin at 5:00, also on Monday, until service time.

There will be a private burial at a later date at Mount Rose Memorial Park.
