Steven FARNER Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shadel's Colonial Chapel - Lebanon on Nov. 3, 2025.
STEVEN RICHARD "STEVE" FARNER, son of Donald Joseph and Opal (Chambers) Farner, was born November 26, 1951, in Lebanon, Missouri, where he was a life long resident and departed this life November 3, 2025, at his home, at the age of seventy-three years.

Steve made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ at a young age. He was a longtime, active and faithful member of First United Methodist Church, where he also served as an usher. The fellowship shared with his church family was very important to him.

Steve worked hard to provide for his family. He worked with his father for many years at Don Farner Motor Sales. Eventually, the business changed to Steve Farner Motor Sales, where Steve was the owner and operator. He was a car enthusiast and was especially proud of his 1968 GTO.

When he wasn't working, Steve enjoyed cooking for family and friends. To many, he was quite the chef, including his children, whom he also taught to cook. While he made many family favorites, his brisket was a reason for everyone to gather on a Sunday afternoon.

Steve always made time for family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed the daily lunches with the "girls," as he referred to them, who were actually a group of men that had been his friends since high school. The camaraderie they shared over the years was priceless.

Steve is survived by three children, Staci Rogers and her husband Scott, Lindsey Casey and her husband Joe and Brett Farner and his wife Kayla; nine grandchildren, Jackson, Nora Grace and Jonah Niemoth, Braeden and Beckett Casey, Jace, Lilli and Robert Farner and Haigen Rivard; his love, Marsha Kimrey and her children, Blake Kimrey and Kaylea Rivard and her husband Brannon; sister, Suzanne Andreas and her husband Dr. John; brother Mark Farner and Barb Mohn; sister-in-law, Kelley Farner; other relatives and countless friends.

Those preceding him in death include his parents and one brother, Bruce Farner.

Steve loved his life and the people in it. Although ornery since day one, according to his children, he loved them deeply and unconditionally and they knew it. Nothing was more important than the time he spent with them. He especially loved being a "Papa" to his nine grandchildren. Our hearts are broken today, but what a wonderful promise we have, as Christians, to know we will meet again.
