Abigail Scout Hendley, known lovingly by her friends and family as Abby, was born on March 7, 2006, in Houston, Texas. Abigail was a thoughtful and friendly young woman. Described by her family as hardworking and yet playful, Abby lived her short life striving for an independent future.
Abigail's love for life was reflected in her myriad of hobbies. She was a champion of family game nights, where she reigned as a fierce Pictionary competitor. She was also known for setting up intricate scavenger hunts for the younger children, sparking their curiosity and sense of adventure. Her love for exploration was not confined to her home in Muenster, Texas. She was an ardent adventurer, often vacationing with Mammy and Appo. She loved cruising and enjoyed escapades at Thousand Trails Lake Texoma with her friends and family. Shopping sprees with Aunt Destin, riding ATVs around the farm, and fishing trips with Uncles David and Daniel were some of her cherished moments. Abigail graduated from high school early in 2023, she had just begun her college journey at NCTC and was committed to her continued education.
Left to cherish Abby's memory are her mother, Dobe Hendley, her grandparents Jerry and Billie Fleitman, grandmother MawMaw Sandy Simon, great-grandmother Emma Simon, uncles David Fleitman, Daniel Fleitman, Cody Simon (Ashley), Cory Simon (Shannon) and Don Caswell, aunt Destin Hayes (John) and numerous loving cousins whom she adored.
She was preceded in death by her father BJ Hendley, aunt Rachel Fleitman, and grandfather PawPaw Kirk Simon.
In honor of Abigail, we invite you to share your memories, stories, and photos on her memorial page. Your contributions will help us remember and celebrate her life, her spirit, her love, and her unique journey.
Abigail Scout Hendley was truly one of a kind, and we are grateful to God for the time we spent with her.
