Abigail Elizabeth Williams
Bethel Springs, TN: Abigail Elizabeth Smith Williams, age 21 passed away April 15, 2023, at Regional One Hospital in Memphis.
She was born February 27, 2002, in Jackson, TN, the daughter of the Ralph Paul and Beth Ann VanCleave Smith. She grew up in Chester County and was a 2020 graduate of Chester County High School.
She married Joseph Warren Williams, October 15, 2022 and they made their home in Bethel Springs.
She has worked as an assembler at Henderson Stamping since 2021.
She was a faithful member of the Forty-Forks Baptist Church.
She loved cooking, big hugs and cats. She had a fire for God and was an excellent example of what a disciple of Christ should be. She will be greatly missed by all her family, and she was inspiration to her husband of strong faith in Christ.
Abigail is survived by her husband, Joseph Warren Williams of Bethel Springs, her parents, Ralph Paul and Beth Ann VanCleave Smith of Pinson, TN; a brother, Jeffrey Paul Smith of Twentynine Palms, CA; a sister, Lynn Williams of Selmer; father and mother-in-law Billy and Angelia Williams of Bethel Springs and grandmother, Brenda Lewis of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, KC VanCleave and Glen and Mary Helen Smith.
She was the most giving and caring person. She had a big heart, always going out of her way to help others. Contagious and infectious.
Abigail had the love of Christ. It was embedded in who she was. She showed us how to love others. She was inspiring.
She not only went out of her way to do physical things for others. She went out of her way to make others feel better. She did not judge others. She took time to see others for who they were and who God made them.
Abigail gave the strongest hugs. Not only did she give them. She was teaching Joseph how to do so as well.
From Joseph
I prayed and believed God for the woman of my dreams and God gave me Abigail. She was passionate in her love for God and others. The testimony of my wife, will live on thru me. I promise to spread the love of God to everyone I come in contact with, just like Abigail did. She was and is my miracle from God.
We know we will see her again and look forward to that day.
Today, someone will likely get her “physical heart", but we hope that we can carry the spirit of the heart of Gold and God she carried here on this earth.
Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Sunday, April 23rd at Forty-Forks Baptist Church with Bro. Randy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Finger Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday and beginning at the church at 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM service time Sunday.
