Adam Lucas Black, born in Cumberland County, NC on September 1, 1980, passed away on May 25, 2023, at the age of 42. He will be remembered by many for his gentle nature and love for mankind which made him a true friend to all those he came across.
Adam was a man of many talents and hobbies. He loved the outdoors - fishing and swimming (especially with his daughter Alaura) and boating were among his favorite activities. His interest in plants and animals was deep-rooted and he enjoyed exploring information about nature and the universe as a whole. Adam was always up for a challenge; he had an unshakable determination to make things work again, which made him an exquisite carpenter. He also had mechanical skills that only added to his extensive knowledge in different areas.
Adam’s care and love for animals and nature came naturally to him. His willingness to do anything to help anyone he encountered was inspiring; never did he shy away from a new challenge.
Adam's curiosity extended well beyond nature into the kitchen where he thoroughly enjoyed preparing meals at home. Holidays and special occasions always brought him immense joy as they were an opportunity for him to get together with family And friends.
Adam is survived by his mother, Glenda Daugherty and husband Roy of Bolivia, NC; son, Elijah Nicolas Trey Black of Fayetteville; daughters, Alaura Christine Hyde of Hope Mills and Daisy Marie Black of Fayetteville; sister, Wendy Garrod and husband Stephen of Punta Gorda, FL; several aunts and uncles; and a host of other relatives and good friends.
Adam's memory lives on through the many who had the privilege of knowing him. Above all else, he will be remembered for the love he had for what meant most to him in life, his children. We celebrate a life full of love, compassion, and unfaltering determination. Adam Lucas Black was an inspiration to many and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
