Adam F. Boroughs, Sr. was called home to be with the Lord on March 21, 2026. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. Adam was a man of faith, known for his dad jokes, compassionate care as a nurse, and his fierce advocacy for adoption and people with disabilities.

Adam's greatest achievement was his long marriage to Amy, and the 13 children that they brought home over the course of their relationship. Hailing from a family that was filled with adoption stories, Adam invested in growing his family beyond their first four children through adoptions from many of the far corners of the world, traveling and adopting children from Bulgaria, China, Hong Kong, Liberia, and Ukraine.

Adam began his 34 year nursing career in 1992 at Einstein Medical Center. He would go on to work in hospitals in Boston and Philadelphia, working across various medically intensive environments, including emergency departments and surgical trauma ICUs. He ended his career as a Wound Ostomy Clinical Nurse Coordinator at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Throughout his life, Adam was called to various medical mission trips, offering his expertise and living out his faith to families across the globe. He deeply loved his career as a nurse, advocating and caring for his patients and his fellow nurses.

To all who knew him, Adam was energetic about learning. In his life, Adam enjoyed many hobbies including biking, bowling, and even unicycle riding. He loved cooking, was an undefeated Scrabble champion within his family, and incredibly proud of his Wordle streak.

Adam is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Amy; his children: Shaquanah, Zoe (Molly McPheeters), Adam Frederick Jr. (Bridgett Beichler), Albertine, Caroline Deesing (Emma), Ivan, Blair, Yul, Luke, Irina, Samuel, Madeline, and Ava; his grandsons: Theodore and Benjamin; his mother, Deborah, and father, Thomas; his siblings, Randolph (Amy), Jonathan (Taffy), Brooke, and Christian; and his cherished nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by in-laws, Dennis and Lois Dragon; and his siblings S. David, Zafir, and Sherita.

Adam was an extraordinary husband, father, nurse, and friend. He gave so much of himself to others, both in his work and in his life at home. That generosity, humor, and unwavering commitment to his family will remain his legacy.

Join us for a celebration of Adam's life on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Calvary Chapel of Gloucester County. Visitation will begin at 12:30pm followed by a service at 1:30pm. Immediately afterward a reception will be held in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Adam's name to the HollyDELL Go Program
