There are no words to express the loss. It is with insurmountable sadness that we announce the passing of Adam James Machowski on May 12th at the age of 22 in a car accident. Born July 20th 2001 in Shreveport, Adam filled our lives with laughter from the moment he came into the world, the one time he actually arrived early.
He graduated in 2020 from Parkway High School, was currently a student at LSU where he was devoted to his fraternity AGR, more so than to his studies and was a friend to everyone.
His personality and mechanical abilities shined bright throughout his young life. During training with the Army National Guard he became a diesel mechanic, and had applied for a deployment. The night sky drew him often outside when he needed to contemplate life's big questions.
They include but are not limited to-
As a young child it was how to delay 30 minutes of homework for hours on end, almost daily for years.
In high school it was where to hide Mary, the dog he purchased at a sketchy gas station, until his family found out.
Later it was what to study, where to focus his eternal flow of energy, and which friends to choose. He chose the latter well.
Left to treasure his memory are his parents Jeannie and James Machowski, his older, but much shorter sister Abbie and her husband Cameron Allgood, one grandfather F.O.Krouse, too many extended family members to name and friends that stretched across the states who have reached out to tell us how Adam touched their lives.
The family wishes to thank all who have extended their love and prayers, the staff at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital and the EMT units who responded to the accident. Your support means the world to us. The memorial service will be held May 17th at 12:00, with visitation starting at 11:00am at South Bossier Baptist Church, 1155 Sligo Road Bossier City, LA 71112. Friends and family are welcome and appreciated. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Mission 22, National Veteran Non-profit Organization.
