Adelfa Muniz, age 90, of Brady, Texas, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in San Antonio. Adelfa was born on January 4, 1936, in Brady, Texas, to Rito Villegas and Catalina (Flores) Villegas and was one of thirteen children. She grew up in Brady and and attended school in Rochelle. She married Antonio Muniz in June of 1968 in Brady. She worked at Roddie Wool Scouring for several years. After the wool plant closed, she worked as a home health care giver for several years. She was an incredibly good seamstress and enjoyed embroidery. She led a simple life. She took care of her family and worked…worked…worked. She was a lifelong resident of Brady and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church where she was a member of the Guadalupana.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Adelfa Muniz will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10:00am at St Patrick's Catholic Church in Brady with Father Terry Brenon officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. The family will be receiving friends on Monday afternoon from 4:00pm to 6:00pm with the Holy Rosary being recited at 5:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Friends may view Adelfa's Memorial Video Tribute and/or sign her online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com. Pallbearers will be Harry Singletary, Dan Villegas, Anthony Villegas, Danny Galindo, Felix Gomez Jr., and Nicholas Ruiz. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eric Ortega, William Ringler, Arthur Villegas, Domingo Villegas, Justin Villegas, and Matthew Villegas.

Adelfa is survived by her son Manuel Muniz and wife Kayla; daughters Linda Laves-Webb and husband Luis and Patricia Muniz and husband Greg; brothers Domingo Villegas, Ruben Villegas, Joe Villegas and wife Martha and Arthur Villegas; sisters Ninfa Tannen and husband Peter, Hermelinda Espino and husband Raul, Rosario Barrera, Martha Villegas, Rachel Henshaw, Mary Villegas and Mary Ann Mendez; grandchildren Asha Galvan and Tamara Gonzales; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Adelfa was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Mary Helen Rivera.
