Adrian Snyder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilkerson Funeral Home and Crematory - Greenville on Apr. 5, 2025.
Adrian Charles Snyder, better known as "A", passed away with grace and dignity after a two-and-a-half-year courageous battle to recover from catastrophic complications suffered after heart surgery. Adrian passed peacefully in the blessings of his own home surrounded by his devoted wife Bonnie of 34 years, son Jarrod, and his Australian Shepard Mikah. Even though his body eventually gave out, his spirit never did.
Adrian was born to Charles and Sybil Snyder in Portis, Kansas in 1944. After graduating from Wymore High School in Wymore, NE, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nebraska and later obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Kansas State University. He served as a Captain in the US Army and the US Army Reserves before starting his professional career. Adrian worked for over 28 years at DuPont in Kinston, NC where he made significant contributions to the field of Dacron fiberfill. After retirement, he continued to share his love of math and science through his tutoring of local high school and college students.
Outside his professional life, Adrian was an enthusiastic lover of the outdoors and led an active lifestyle. His passion for scuba diving, hiking, cycling, and golfing was matched by his enjoyment of racquetball, swimming, and traveling. He could often be found in the community garden, fixing small engines, or playing a spirited game of cribbage.
Adrian had a deep love for his family. He was a supportive husband to his wife Bonnie and was immensely proud to be a stepfather to Jennifer (Andy), Jarrod, and Meghan. His love for his stepchildren was unwavering and he cherished the relationships he built with them. Adrian was also a proud grandfather to Andrew, Ethan, Tatum, and Hazel who brought him incredible joy. He is also survived by his brother Larry Snyder and many loving brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
A private service was held for his immediate family at Wilkerson's Funeral Home. His final resting place will be at The Dewachen Buddhist Columbarium at Karme Ling Retreat Center in Delhi, NY, where a ceremony will be held on June 11, 2025.
