We invite those whose lives she touched to join us as we share stories, express our love, and remember the remarkable legacy Bernice leaves behind.
Bernice will be profoundly missed but will remain in our hearts forever, a beacon of love and kindness that will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
A special note from the children:
My mother was a special very loved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, but to her, everyone was family. She never met a stranger and she was always on the go doing something for someone. She never took a moment for herself as she was always looking out for others when she should have been resting, waking up late, and sipping coffee in peace. But instead you stepped up - you opened your doors, your arms, and your heart; you gave everyone a place to belong.
You traded your comfort for chaos and showed everyone what love looked like and what family felt like. You made sure everyone always had someone to turn to, even when you were tired and even when it was hard. I will spend the rest of my life trying to honor that kind of love. I can never fill your shoes, but I will spend the rest of my life cherishing the miles you put on them. Thank you, Mom, for being the best mother we could have had.
