Aiden Renner Reese was born Monday, June 4, 2007, at Norman Regional Hospital at 6:34 PM. He departed this sweet Earth on February 20, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, best friend, Skyler Owens and many more friends at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Aiden moved to Edmond with his parents, Gary and Teresa (Boles) Reese on February 14, 2014. Aiden had such a good heart and soul. His passion was baseball, starting at 3 years old in T-Ball where he met his best friend, Skyler Owens. He and his dad would play catch in the backyard for hours, but Aiden would never want to quit even after the sun went down. He was a diehard New York Yankees fan, he took his baseball number 2 from the Captain, Derek Jeter and he loved Aaron Judge, who he got to see play in person in his life. For the last ten years, all of his weekends were spent at the baseball field playing travel baseball with several different teams. He made long and lasting friendships, and even brotherhood with his baseball family. In addition, he was a massive Oklahoma University (OU) fan. His house was a house divided, Aiden and his mother, who are originally from Norman, bleed Crimson and Cream, his dad on the other hand was a Texas Longhorn fan. Aiden's favorite thing to do was the horns down sign to show his support and get his dad riled up. He loved to fish and shoot guns, but his favorite thing to do was play video games with his cousin, Jake Guttery, and they played daily. He also loved to go to Jake's house to ride razors and golf carts. Aiden was just beginning to drive, and he was really good at it. In Aiden fashion, he was actually a little cocky. When his dad had to work out of town, he still slept in bed with his mama. He will be truly missed.
Aiden was preceded in death by his ole Granny, Beverly Boles; his Papa, Craig Cates; his uncle, Lieutenant Colonel Craig Larson; and his cousin, Shelby Guttery.
He is survived by his parents, Gary and Teresa (Boles) Reese; 2 sisters, Madison Reese from Edmond and Kaylee Reese from Plano; his grandparents, Papa Jimmy and Granny Bones (Connie) Mercer from Norman; his Nana, Yvonne Storer from Christchurch, New Zealand; his Mimi, Donna Cates from Noble; and his great-grandmother, Virginia Lamirand from Norman. He will also be missed by his uncles and aunts, Anthony and Ashley Lamirand from Lexington; Michelle Mercer from Noble, Tracey and Ed Davies from Christchurch New Zealand, Bonnie Larson from Lone Grove, Kristie and Kyle Guttery from Slaughterville, Karen Pickens from Noble, and Casey and Ariel Cates, as well as many cousins, Brenden Mercer, Chantz Mercer, Lillie Mercer, Aidan Davies, Caleb Lamirand, Leah Lamirand, Avery and Marie Pickens, Wyatt Guttery, Jayden Pickens, Amy Artz, Chad Larson, Abel Pickens, and his cousin/best friend Jake Guttery.
