Aileen Leggins

Aileen Leggins, better known as "Aunt Aileen", departed this life on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, DE. At the age of 83. Born on July 14, 1940 in Mobile, Alabama, she was the beloved daughter of Jessie Mae and Joe Leggins. After relocating to Delaware in 1968 she found employment at the Draper King Cole Factory and remained there until the factory closed in 2001.
Aileen will be remembered for her unwavering walking exercise to the Milton Food Lion, Family Dollar, and the Dollar General stores. She never met a stranger that she wouldn't hold a conversation with. She always looked forward to going to Milton Cheer Center and to her church Kingdom Life Christian Center. Although she didn't have any kids of her own, Aileen was the babysitter for quite a few of her nieces and nephews in which each of them probably has a special story of their own that ended up with a big laugh.
Aileen was proceeded in death by her parents, Jessie Mae and Joe Leggins, four sisters, Annie Ruth Lane, Lena Mae Badger, Martha Hinton and Maryann Davis, five brothers, Joe Allen Leggins, Amos Leggins, Freddie Leggins, George Leggins and Sam Leggins. And a special great neice, Kierra (KiKi) Harris.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two sisters Mary Lee Snell of Mobile, Alabama, Pauline Johnson of Dover, DE; two brothers, David Leggins and Robert Leggins (Patsi) of Milton, DE. Two brothers in law, Eddie Badger and Tony Hinton, one aunt, Hattie Bea Griffin of Vallejo, California, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews etc. and friends.
In honoring Aileen let us remember the love she had for her family and the enjoyment she had being with them.
