Alan Ehrlich Obituary

Alan David Ehrlich, 72, of Jenkintown, PA, died unexpectedly in his home on January 5th, 2026.

He was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia in 1953 to Charles Ehrlich and Mary (Whitman) Ehrlich, and grew up in the Oxford Circle section of Northeast Philadelphia. As a child, he enjoyed many happy days riding bikes and playing ball on Wells Street. Alan attended Northeast High School before studying Sociology at Temple University and earning his Masters at Villanova University. He spent 42 years at PATH, Inc. mainly as the Vocational Habilitation Program Director. He devoted his professional career to helping those with intellectual disabilities.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mary, his brother Jeffrey Ehrlich, and his sister-in-law Gail (Scheiner) Ehrlich. He is survived by his wife, Terese Egan-Ehrlich, daughter Jillian Ehrlich, son Daniel Ehrlich, and his buddy Lainey. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 11th at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Funeral Directors Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966. Join the family at 3:00 PM; the Memorial Service begins promptly at 3:30 PM, so please plan to arrive by 3:15 PM if you will be attending the service. Shiva will be held following the service and on Monday evening at the family home. Monday evening the family will accept visitors at 6:30pm, with a service at 7:00pm. All are welcome. In honor of Alan, we will be watching the Eagles together on Sunday night (Go Birds!). In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, or a charity of your choice, would be greatly appreciated.
