Alan R. Emrick, age 97, of New Madison, Ohio, formerly of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
He was born on July 13, 1928, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to the late Robert and Eileen (Putnam) Emrick.
In addition to his parents, Alan was preceded in death by his wife, Doris J. (Gabbert) Emrick; his son, Mark Emrick; his granddaughter, Jennifer Emrick; his siblings, Don (Jean) Emrick, Dave Emrick, Robert Emrick, and Betty McKee; and his sister-in-law, Jo Emrick.
Alan is survived by his son, Neal (Mary Ann) Emrick of New Madison; his 6 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren; his 7 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren; his siblings, Kenny (Pam) Emrick and Lee Emrick; and his sister-in-law, Iona Emrick.
Alan was a proud graduate of New Madison High School and spent a meaningful career contributing to various companies, including a dedicated 15 years at Prudential Insurance Company, 30 years with Wayne Feed Trucking, 10 years at General Motors, and 5 years at Frigidaire in Dayton.
Alan was not only known for his strong work ethic but also for his deep devotion to family and community, exemplified by his long-standing membership at Reverent Church in Greenville. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished the beauty of nature, enjoying activities such as fishing, boating, and water skiing, remaining active in these pursuits until he was in his 80s. His zest for life also showed in his love for line dancing, traveling with his beloved wife, and riding motorcycles-passions he embraced with vigor up until the young age of 89.
Alan's adventurous spirit and boundless enthusiasm for life left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His laughter and kindness will be dearly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of friends and family.
A celebration of Alan's life will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery.
Guests may visit with his family prior to the service on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be given to EverHeart Hospice, 1350 N. Broadway Street, Greenville, Ohio 45331.
