Alan W. McCarty

Alan Wayne McCarty, age 63, of Carsonville passed away peacefully on October 14, 2023. He was born in Cass City on October 2, 1960 to the late Delton McCarty and Rosemary McCarty. He graduated from Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School in 1978.
Alan married Beth (Pagel) McCarty on August 20, 1983 in Sandusky, MI. Alan spent his time running his excavating and towing businesses, was active on the Carsonville Fire Department for 45 years, and served on the Sanilac County Fair Board for 9 years. He enjoyed spending his spare time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Alan is preceded in death by his father Delton McCarty. He is survived by his mother Rosemary McCarty; his wife of 40 years, Beth; his three daughters Rachelle (Jeff) Wadsworth, Samantha (Wesley) Young, and Alyssa (Garret) Waldie; and his grandchildren Lucas, Jake, and Katelynn Wadsworth; Mason, Tatum, and Theodore Young; and Baby Girl Waldie, due October 2023. Alan is also survived by his two brothers Wayne (Shelly) McCarty and Jeff (Jerry) McCarty and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Carsonville from 1-9 PM, with a funeral service officiated by Pastor Jerry Griggs at 2 PM. A Fireman's Memorial will be held that evening during visitation at 7 P.M. A private burial will be held at a later date. Memorials in memory of Alan can be made to the family discretionary fund or the Carsonville Fire Department.
