Alan Lloyd Millet
Alan Lloyd Millet, age 68, of Wesleyville, transitioned to Heaven on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a man of deep faith. Al was a native of Wesleyville and the youngest of four sons of Lloyd and Margaret Millet. He was preceded in death by his parents and oldest brother, Robert.
Al is survived by his sons, Robert "Bobby", Adam and James Millet; granddaughters, Veronica and Penelope; and grandson, Sawyer. Also surviving are his brothers, David and Charles Millet; sisters, Carolyn McPherson, Pamela Rodland and Kathy Stoddard; as well as many nieces and nephews.
After Alan graduated from Iroquois High School, he served in the US Army as a radio repair specialist stationed in Anchorage, AK. He ended his military career as a lieutenant while attending Penn State. During his career as a Professor for computer science at Gannon University for nearly 2 decades, he completed his education by graduating Summa Cum Laude from Gannon with a Master's Degree in computer science. He then traveled to Cebu, Philippines, where he taught the Tagalog language online for eight years and fulfilled an enjoyable retirement.
Friends may call at Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Tuesday, July 23rd, from 4 pm until the time of the Memorial Service there at 6 pm conducted by Pastor Dave Sherwood of Wesleyville Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, may we suggest a donation in Alan's name to Samaritan's Purse or the American Cancer Society.
