Alan Rutherford Obituary
Alan was born on March 27, 1970 in Lincoln County, NC a son of the late Benjamin Hill Rutherford, Jr. and Zelia Catherine Huffstetler Rutherford. He was a 1989 graduate of Cherryville High School. Alan was a member of First Baptist Church in Cherryville. He worked for many years at Harris Teeter in Cherryville. Alan was a former member of the Cherryville Lion's Club. He loved football and was a Carolina Panthers fan.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Fuller Rutherford; his brother, Ben Rutherford and wife Diann of Casar. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:45PM to 2:45PM on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Lail officiating.
Burial will follow the service at City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville.
Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, c/o Cherryville Shrine Club, 124 Harbor Point Drive, Cherryville, NC 28021.
