Albert William “Bill” Peterson, son of Carl Peterson and Emma (Couper) Peterson, was born August 28, 1940, in Mansfield, Missouri, and departed this life February 6, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 83 years, 5 months, and 8 days.
Bill and Carol were united in marriage in September of 1997.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, twin sister, Alberta, who died when she was 10 months old, Mae, Bob, Paul, Harry, Virginia and Anne.
Bill is survived by a son, Michael Peterson and wife, Ladawn, of Hartville, Missouri; two daughters, Patricia Wagoner of Natchez, Mississippi, and Stacy Steele-Lauritzson of Davenport, Iowa; three grandchildren, Scott Peterson, Tamara Welch, and Farrah Thornton, several nieces and nephews.
Bill lived all his life in Mansfield where he graduated from Mansfield High School in the Class of 1958. He worked at 3M in Springfield from 1967 until 2002 when he retired and had attended Lead Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
In his spare time, he loved his coffee, fishing, gardening, the outdoors, auctions, lottery scratchers, being a handyman around the house, and talking on his CB radio where his handle was “Toe-head”.
Bill and Carol had a love for cats and enjoyed sharing their garden produce with others. They will be deeply missed, but we have many good memories of times spent together.
