Albert "Butch" Kneiss Jr.

Albert A. Kneiss, Jr., 79 of Enfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born on January 26, 1945 to Albert A. and Mary (Priezlozny) Kneiss, Sr. and grew up in Center Valley, PA. He graduated from Saucon Valley Senior High School in PA before entering into the United States Air Force. Albert returned from active duty in 1967 and soon after married the love of his life, Joanne on April 22, 1967. They raised their family and made their home in Enfield where they spent the rest of their days.
He along with his wife and family were faithful communicants of Holy Family Church. Al worked for the Town of Enfield for over 30 years, retiring as the Highway Superintendent. In his free time and after retirement, you would most often find him fishing, hunting, or shooting as he was a proud member of the Somers Sportsman Club or keeping an impeccable lawn. He truly enjoyed working with stained glass and driving his Dodge Polara 500, that car he was always proud of. Nothing however, made his world more complete than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Left to mourn Albert are his three daughters, Colene Ceniglio of Enfield, CT, Brenda Lumbert and her husband Butch of Enfield, CT, and Wendy Lockner and her husband Paul of Michigan; grandchildren, Megan, Caitlin and Samantha Ceniglio, Kyle Lumbert and his wife, Lea, Madison Lumbert, Lucas, Charlotte, Maria and Isabella Lockner; sister, Christina Fortenberry and her husband Curtis of North Pole, Alaska. Al was predeceased by his bride, Joanne (Dippel) Kneiss in 2019 and his parents Albert and Mary Kneiss, Sr.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT 06082. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Church of St. Jeanne Jugan Parish, 23 Simon Road, Enfield, CT 06082. Please meet directly at church. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, 59 Park Street, Enfield, CT 06082 The family asks that no Lilies be sent in floral tributes as there is an allergy in the family.
