Albert McKay Sr. was born in Independence, Louisiana to the late Doc C. Collins and Nette McKay. He was the second child of nine brothers and sisters. Jackie, J. E., Gail, Tyrone, Raymond, Ronald, Rosalind, and Wendell. He was married to his wife Earnestine McKay for 56 years. To this union was four children Albert Jr., Jenelle, Anita and Brian. He was the grandfather of two Bryce and Brianna McKay.
He was a graduate of Ponchatoula High School. After graduation he join the United States Army Service. He served 25 before retiring as a Master Sergeant. Before his retiring he was apart of the 1191st and 1192nd Transportion Unit.
Albert was a hard worker in every job he had. He took great pride in working at Metairie Park Country Day School. He worked there for over 20 years. Where he touched the lives of many students, staffs, and families. To this day he still had a strong connection with some students. Later in his life he became a member of First Mount Calvary Baptist Church where he was a member of the Usher Board.
Albert died on August 2, 2025, when he departed from his earthly body. He was surrounded by his loving family. He leaves to cherish his memory his Earnestine McKay, two sons Albert Jr. and Brian, one daughter Anita McKay and one grandson Bryce McKay. Four brothers J. E. McKay, Raymond McKay, Ronald McKay and Wendell Mckay (Stephaine). Good friends Walter and Teresa Dupart and host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Albert is preceded in death by his father Doc C. Collins, his mother Nette McKay, his son Jenelle McKay, his granddaughter Brianna McKay, two brothers Jackie McKay and Tyrone McKay Sr, and two sisters, Rosalind Batiste and Gail McKay.
We the family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, phone calls, and visits doing this time.
