Albert "Al" L. Ollmann, age 75, of Seymour, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023, at I.U. Health University, Indianapolis, surrounded by his loving family.
Al grew up on a farm in rural Kingston, Illinois. He graduated from Hiawatha High School, Kishwaukee Junior College, Northern Illinois University, and the University of Utah, where he received his MBA degree. Mr. Ollmann worked in material logistics for 50 years with Valeo in the states of Illinois, Utah, and Indiana.
Al was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and he enjoyed road biking, gardening, genealogy, and fitness.
Born on August 2, 1948, in Sycamore, Illinois, he was the son of Floyd A. Ollmann, Sr., and Margaret May Strack Ollmann, both of whom preceded him in death. On July 9, 1982, in Salt Lake City, Utah, he married Tawnya Loertscher, and she survives in Seymour.
Survivors also include two sons: David C. (Katie) Ollmann of Utah, and Carl A. (Ashlee) Ollmann of Columbus; two brothers: Floyd A. (Kay) Ollmann of Belvidere, Illinois, and Wayne L. (Sharon) Ollmann of Rural Kingston, Illinois; eight grandchildren: Spencer, Matthew, McKay, Isaac, Apollo, Arlo, Abi, and Temperance; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Albert "Al" L. Ollmann will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, North Vernon, with Bishop Tracy Lykins officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, North Vernon.
Interment will take place at Genoa City Cemetery in Genoa, Illinois, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023.
Memorials may be given to Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the caring staff of Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown.
