Albert Houston Tyler, 95 of Lafayette, passed away Monday August 25, 2025, at home surrounded the afternoon and evening before by three generations of loved ones.

He was born December 30, 1929, in Nancy, KY to the late Elmer and Myrtle Gaines Todd Tyler. He married Beatrice Burton in Boswell on April 15, 1952, who left this realm on January 12, 2013.

Albert and Beatrice attended First Assembly of God and Church Alive. Albert was a veteran in the United States Air Force based in San Antonio, TX, leaving the service as a Sergeant. He came to Lafayette after his military service where he was employed at Ross Gear and Tool from where he retired in 1984. After his retirement, Albert served a term as the Union Township Trustee.

Albert was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting of all types from morel mushrooms in the spring, filling a cooler with fresh caught crappie in the summer and deer hunting in the fall. He loved his horse, Buck, especially when racing other riders in a gallop down a woodsy straight away.

Albert and Beatrice's spirit live on with their children Morris A. Tyler (wife: Debbie), Myrtle Kay McCoskey (husband: Lynn), Mark H. Tyler (wife: Patti), all of Lafayette; grandchildren, Chad and Andrea McCoskey, Shawn, Travis and Camille Tyler, Natasha Ramsey, Tana Tyler and Kara Burgess; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his sisters Mildred, Jewel, Bert and brother Gilbert.

Visitation is at 10:30 am with Funeral Service at 11:30 am at Soller-Baker, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909.

Entombment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, 1718 W. 350 N., West Lafayette, IN 47906.
