Donna S. (Wilson) Tyler, age 65, of Marlborough, passed away comfortably on August 22, 2025 while surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of the late Wade A. Tyler, who passed in 2024. The two celebrated 40 cherished years together.
She was born in Concord on June 13, 1960 as the daughter of the late Richard and Mary (Matthews) Wilson. While growing up in Concord, she graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School, class of 1978. Donna's love for the outdoors began during her formative years where she often spent her time on hiking and camping trips.
Working at her family's pharmacy, instilled her incredibly strong work ethic that she embodied for the rest of her life. For nearly two decades, she was the Food and Beverage Manager for the Executive Conference Center at Babson College. She found her career very rewarding, especially the relationships she formed along the way.
Donna treasured being near the water and out in the sun. Her children's fondest memories with Donna are summers spent on Lake Winnipesaukee with their extended family. Recent trips to Aruba and Cape Cod with Wade created meaningful memories that held a special place in her heart.
To know Donna was to love Donna. She truly never met a stranger. She embodied a kind of strength that was built on hard work and doing what is right, even when it wasn't easy. She could light up any room with her infectious energy and positive spirit. Her love for her family never wavered. She was fully committed to the role of wife, mother and grandmother, always supporting those closest to her in their endeavors. She was the ultimate "sports mom" who never missed a game.
Her grandchildren, Maddyn and Wyatt were the lights of her life. Babysitting and spending quality time with them was her favorite and final job in this lifetime. The family often bonded over card and board games, which evoked her notorious competitive spirit. But behind that competitive edge was someone who loved fiercely and cheered others on in their own lives. She loved life, and savored each precious moment. Her love will continue to shine on.
Donna was the dedicated and supportive mother of Bret Tyler, Craig Tyler, Colby Tyler and his wife Hannah and Nicole Richardson and her husband Peter. She was the beloved "Gam" of Maddyn Jane and Wyatt Wade Richardson. She also leaves behind her sisters, Deborah Dalton and her husband Jack, Marylee Wilson and Paula Easley and her husband Matthew, her sisters-in-law, Karen Wilson and Lesley Troio and her husband Stephen, along with many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Richard "Rick" Wilson.
Family and friends will gather for visiting hours at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center on Wednesday, August 27 from 4 to 7 pm. All are welcome to re-gather in the funeral home on Thursday, August 28 at 10am, followed by a procession to St. Bernard's Cemetery in Concord for a graveside service beginning at 11 am.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley, 212 Great Road, Maynard, MA 01754 (www.bgcav.org).
Arrangements are entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
