Alex James David DeVary, 29, of Dilworth, MN, passed away unexpectedly on February 12, 2024.
Alex was born March 10, 1994, in Fargo, ND, to James and Melanie (Forderer) DeVary. He grew up in Dilworth, MN and graduated from DGF High School in 2012. Alex excelled in high school sports, including football, wrestling, and weightlifting. He earned many medals and trophies and still holds some school records in weightlifting. Many hours were spent at the hockey rink in Dilworth, and he also enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, and playing street hockey and football with his friends.
Alex was a big movie buff and he loved listening to hard rock music. He especially loved Bigfoot and sci-fi movies, and his favorite T.V. shows were Unsolved Mysteries and Expedition Unknown.
Alex was extremely devoted to his family and always the “favorite uncle.” He will forever be remembered for his big heart, his kind and loving nature, his belief in always telling the truth and doing the right thing.
He will forever be missed by his mother, Melanie DeVary and stepfather, Richard Olson; sister, April DeVary and her daughters, Kayah and Adelynn; brother, Dustin (Samantha) DeVary and his son, Weston; stepbrother, R.J. Olson; grandmother, Donna Forderer; uncles, Mel Forderer, Mitch (Jill) Forderer; aunts, Melissa Carlson, Leah Carlson, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, James DeVary; grandparents, Paul and Joann DeVary; uncle, John DeVary; aunt, Sandra Sandahl, and grandfather, Melvin Forderer.
A memorial service will be held Monday, February 19, 2024, at 10:00 A.M., with visitation for one hour before the service, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
