Alexander Diaz, 75, of Amarillo, TX died Thursday, August 29, 2024.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Hereford, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. 

Alexander was born September 9, 1948, in Lorenzo, TX to David and Antonia (Casias) Diaz. He graduated from Hereford High School.

He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart. 

Alexander married Isabel Celaya on May 10, 1972, in Canyon, TX. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.

He retired from the US Postal Service after 40 years of service. Alexander enjoyed listening to music, drawing, sketching, watching both football and boxing. He also loved going to the beach and driving his Corvette. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Jason Diaz; daughter, Dianna Diaz; and a brother, Daniel Diaz.

Survivors include his wife, Isabel Diaz of Amarillo; son, Eddie Diaz and wife Beth, of Mont Belvieu, TX; daughter, Denise Diaz, of Ft. Worth, TX; sisters, Carmen Martinez and Sylvia Jensen, both of Oklahoma City, OK, and Beatrice Karlin, Alice Coronado, and Iris Diaz, all of Hereford, TX; grandchildren, Brandon (Callie), Miranda (Andrew), Elijah (Kinsey), Aaron (Emma), Fabian (Chasity), Alex, and Isabella; and two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Jazmine.
