Alexander Richard "Dick" Kautzer, age 78, of Nekoosa, WI passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI.
Richard was born on October 20, 1946 in Marshfield, WI to the late Alexander Richard sr. and Mary (Bartz) Kautzer. He married Sandra Lee Jackson on November 13, 1965 in Nekoosa, WI and would have proudly celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. Professionally, Richard was a pipe fitter throughout his career in the paper mill, starting at Nekoosa Papers, and retiring from Consolidated Papers. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, golfing, and watching movies. He was an avid collector, and loved collecting antiques, art, and anything he found interesting. Richard was a craftsman and enjoyed woodworking. He took great pride in building doll houses, play barns, and many other things for his grandchildren throughout his life. Above all else, Richard loved spending time with his family.
Richard was selfless. Throughout numerous health issues and battles throughout his life, he never complained, and was always willing to put his family and friends before himself. Richard's sense of humor and selflessness will be greatly missed by everyone who had the honor to know him throughout his life.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sandy Kautzer; children, Michelle (Scott) Linzmeier, Todd Kautzer, and Chad (Tim) Kautzer-Brekke; grandchildren, Tessa, Owen, Breally, Cayden, Mara, Boone, and Charlie; great-grandchildren, Abby, Hans, Beau, Ellie, and Elijah; brother, Mike (Kathy) Kautzer; sisters, Jeanne Brody, and Deannie (Adam) Reeder; and sister-in-law, Nancy Kautzer.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Kautzer; and granddaughter Abby Lee Linzmeier.
