Alexander M. Savinski 94,of Swoyersville, Pennsylvania, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 9, 2025, after a brief illness at the VA Wilkes-Barre Medical Center.
He was born in Swoyersville, Pa. to the late Alexander and Josephine Hritzak Savinski. Al graduated from Swoyersville High School and went on to serve our country in the United States Army. He worked at the Consolidated Cigar Corporation in West Pittston for many years before starting his career as a machinist at Suburban Publishers in Exeter, where he worked until retirement.
Al was a proud Veteran and never missed the opportunity to support his fellow Veterans. He marched in every Veteran's Day Parade up until he was 93.He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and was an avid knife collector as well as a dealer. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and long rides on his Harley Davidson. Al really enjoyed his time spent in Atlantic City with his wife. They spent numerous holidays and weekends whooping it up at the Casinos.
Al was a quiet and gentle soul with a kind heart. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eileen Murtha Savinski, brother, Francis Savinski, sister-in-law Annabelle Savinski, grandson Lamar, grand-daughter, Sharae, great grandsons, Xander and Levi.
He is survived by his 5 girls, Linda Savinski of Wyoming, Susan Savinski of Pittston, Joanne Savinski of Swoyersville, Michele Reap (Mike) of W. Wyoming, Lisa Yerka (Anthony) of Taylor, siblings, John Savinski of North Carolina, Rose Barton of Kingston, Mary Shandra of Norristown,6 grand-children and 8 great grand-children.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The service for Alexander will be at the convenience of the family and entrusted to Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
