In Emmett, about 1975, Alex Silva was the Algebra teacher. He said he would make Algebra "painless". Each day he had a thought of the day on the front board. This was a great man, who taught us about math and its uses in real life. My favorite teacher. My condolences to the family. Alex was a great man.

I have many fond memories of "Uncle" Alex on his visits to the ranch. He was very smart and full of energy. His star is the Brightest in the sky!
