Alfio John Malone
March 1, 1947 – May 24, 2025
Alfio John Malone born on March 1, 1947, to the late Charles and Adele (Graceffa) Malone and was raised in Waltham, Massachusetts. He passed away peacefully on May 24, surrounded by his loving family.
To know Al was to love him. He was a kind and generous soul who would go out of his way to support family and friends. Whenever someone was in need, Al never hesitated to pick up the phone and connect them with someone who could help. His trademark reassurance, "You're never alone with Al Malone," was more than just a phrase-it was a promise he lived by.
Al loved people, music, sports, politics, work, and movies. He even appeared as an extra in films such as Ted 2 and American Hustle, an experience he thoroughly enjoyed.
After graduating from Waltham High School in 1968, Al joined the family business, C. Malone Trucking, where he worked for over two decades. He later transitioned to landscaping, successfully running Maplewood Landscaping until his retirement.
When his beloved wife, Pam, passed away in 1991, Al embraced the challenge of single parenthood, raising their two young sons-C.J., then ten, and Mathew, just four years old. He was devoted to his boys, who grew into accomplished young men and remained a tremendous source of pride for him throughout his life.
Al is survived by his children, C.J. and Mathew Malone; and his siblings, Camille Poynton of Lexington, John Malone of Sudbury, and Joseph Malone of Scituate. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was predeceased by his brothers Rosario C. "Russ" Malone and Charles "Chuck" Malone, as well as his sister, Rosalie Tashjian.
Al's legacy is one of love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
