Alfred Lyle Arbogast left us on May 30, 2023 to join his parents, Fred and Mildred Arbogast; siblings, Charles Bailey and Freda Burlingame; first wife, Marge (Brozovic); son-in-law, James Fagan; and stepdaughter, Christine McVehil (Goodin).
He is survived by wife, Orpha (Goodin); sister, Sharon Wheeler; daughter, Marsha (Fagan); sons, Tim (Penny), Kenneth (Tina) and Paul; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandson.
Al was born April 7, 1933 in a small cabin in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Als roots would be present in many of his passions throughout his lifetime such as raising and showing Arabian Horses, raising award winning Checkered Giant Rabbits, his woodworking talents, country music and some of the most memorable summer harvest barbeques.
Als stature belied his strength, courage, and love for his family and friends. He was a proud gunner aboard the USS Helena during the Korean War. He survived multiple lightning strikes, stampedes from his own horses and cattle, but he could not overcome his battle with cancer. With his wife and family by his side, he fought one last courageous battle.
Al will be deeply missed, but he is at peace at last. We are blessed knowing that the patriarch of this family will still be looking after us as our Guardian Angel.
A funeral service will be held at Paquelet Falk Funeral Home in Louisville on Saturday, June 10, 2023, 12:00 pm, where the family will received friends from 10:00am until the time of service. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Alfred, please visit our Tree Store.
