Alfred Daniel Lynn, age 83, died Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, under the care of Gentiva Hospice. Alfred was born in Reidsville, Georgia, on May 16, 1942, to the late Harvey B. Lynn and Corine Jarriel Lynn. Alfred served in the United States Army HHB 48th Armored Division Arty and National Guard in both Savannah, Georgia, and Fort Jackson, South Carolina, for 6 years. Alfred worked with several Asphalt Companies before starting his own business, Daniel Lynn Asphalt and Paving, where everyone fondly remembered him by his signature "Green Hillbilliy Dump Truck". Alfred married his true love, Annette Bragg Lynn. They had three children: Danette, Theresa, and Alfred Daniel (Danny) Lynn Jr. Alfred enjoyed singing and playing his guitar. He and his family sang gospel music for years, travelling to different churches, jail ministries, and nursing homes. Alfred and his family helped establish several churches in Savannah and South Carolina. When he wasn't singing and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, he enjoyed fishing and gardening, but most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them. He was preceded in death by his son Alfred Daniel Lynn Jr., parents, Harvey and Corine Lynn, and his two siblings, Jeanette Deloach and Burnette Collins.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Annette B. Lynn, his daughters, Danette Jackson (Larry Cason), and Theresa Lynn, his grandchildren, Wesley (Jessica) Jackson, Keri Krider, Brittney Kasperian, Lauren (Brian) Walls, and his great-grandchildren, Daniel Boesche, Brandy Walls, Renee Kasperian, Hailey Walls, Hunter Walls, Connor Kasperian and Ellen Kasperian as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Emit Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm.
