Martin Lynn Obituary

Martin W. Lynn, 86, of Saltsburg, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025. He was born on the Lynn family farm on Elders Ridge Road, Nowrytown, on November 1, 1939, the son of the late Martin Hope Lynn and Iva Ethel (Heasley) Lynn.
In 1963, Martin married Patricia Trenga, a city girl who became a farmer's wife, and the two of them enjoyed a beautifully connected and loving married life of 62 years. Together they experienced both the joys and the challenges of life, always staying dedicated and in love with each other. As a couple they raised two children, never missed the opportunities to spend time with their five grandchildren, and delighted in the fact that they were blessed to know three great grandchildren. Martin and Patty enjoyed travelling together and boating, especially to the cottage in Parry Sound, Ontario, and to other locations including Florida, Myrtle Beach, Alaska, Hawaii, and Arizona.
At his core, Martin loved the farm as it served as the backdrop of all the stages of his life; his storied youth as the "original Dennis the Menace," his adult life where he and his wife built a home and raised a family, and his continued lifelong enjoyment of the responsibilities and beauties of life on the farm.
Additionally, Martin worked as a truck driver for Jiffy Steak. Later, Martin was employed by National Roll in the foundry and later as a metallurgical technician. Martin also served his country as a member of the Pennsylvanian National Guard. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union. He also was a member of the Nowrytown Sportsman's Club.
In addition to his parents, Martin is preceded in death by his infant son, Matthew, and his sister, June (Lynn) Vatter. Martin is survived by his dedicated wife, Patricia (Trenga) Lynn, his daughter, Lorrie (John) Werkmeister and his son, Mark (Mary) Lynn. He leaves behind his adoring grandchildren, Erin (James) Anderson, Julia (Joe) Sirc, Alex (Katie) Werkmeister, Mark Lynn, and Michelle Lynn, also his precious great grandchildren, Eliza Anderson, Benjamin Anderson, and Lucas Werkmeister, his brother Tom Lynn, numerous nieces and nephews, and beloved friends.
Martin's family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents of Saint Andrew's Village for both the dedicated care and the numerous valued friendships over the past nine months.
Friends will be received on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 701 Salt St., Saltsburg. Additional viewing will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Kathy Mihoerck officiating. Interment will follow in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Saltsburg.
