With sadness, we announce the death of Gloria Ciocca on July 28, 2025. The daughter of the late Felix and Mary (Pomposini) Ciocca, she graduated from Elders Ridge High School and was a Secretary for the school for several years. She then was the Secretary at Westinghouse Metals in Blairsville until she retired.
She loved her family of ten nieces and nephews and 20 grand nieces and nephews, kept a record of their birthdays, and sent birthday wishes each year. She was there for any need. Christmas cookies were a hit; cutting and painting pumpkins was a hit too. Each morning, she walked along Route 286 picking up thrown garbage.
Gloria was a member of St. Matthew's Church and helped in the office. She is survived by her sister, Angeline J. Ciocca; brothers, Daniel (Beverly) Ciocca, Gilbert (Esther) Ciocca, and Edwin (Charlotte) Ciocca; ten nieces and nephews, and twenty grand nieces and nephews
.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Curran Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 701 Salt Street, Saltsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church will be held Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:00 am with Father Salvatore Lamendola and Father Roselo co-officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment in St. Matthew's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gloria's name to the church.
The family would like to express many thanks to St. Anne staff – especially the nurses and aides who cared for Gloria with the greatest compassion and care – who got her up each morning and was there at bedtime. They are Jessica, Jennifer, Megan, and others as well. Special thanks to Tammy Sellinger, the monitor who loved Gloria and made her day brighter. Thanks to Heartland Hospice for excellent care. Thanks to Pat Music for her daily visit and prayers.
