Patrick "Rick" Michael DeZorzi, 78, of Loyalhanna Township, formerly of Newport Beach, CA, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Born June 10th, 1947 in Jeannette, he was a son of Pasquale DeZorzi and Claudia (Fedoronko) DeZorzi.
Rick was a graduate of Magnolia High School in Anaheim, California; and received his Associate of Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton. He started his career path in the automotive industry as a Ford Motor Credit Repossession Agent. After years of hard work, Rick became the owner/operator of Le Mans Nissan and Hyundai in San Bernardino, and All Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Banning, California. After retiring from the car business, Rick owned and operated fishing charter vessels in Newport Beach.
A true "Renaissance Man," Rick had a wide variety of interests. He loved the outdoors, including fishing, boating, skeet and trap shooting, archery, and hunting. He also played a variety of musical instruments, and had read thousands of books across a multitude of subjects. Rick was deeply concerned with the wellbeing of friends and family, and was always ready to supply a positive word, humorous anecdote, or gem of advice.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his son, John M. DeZorzi; and his sister, Daria Hackey.
Rick is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Myers DeZorzi; son, Andrew and his wife Cathy DeZorzi of Beaumont, CA; daughter, Christine and her husband Jeremy Benz of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren, Bennett and Alexa DeZorzi of Beaumont, CA, and Ava and Sloane Benz of Scottsdale, AZ; brothers, Jim Miller, Steve Powell; sister, Claudia "Toddy" Bienia; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 701 Salt St., Saltsburg, on Wednesday, August 13th, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 5:00 p.m. with David Hamilton officiating.
