ALFRED LEE "Ronnie Mac" MCCONATHY, age 76 of Ringgold, claimed his Heavenly Rewards on Tuesday August 22, 2023. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area and a devout man of faith. He loved fishing, the Georgia Bulldawgs, Atlanta Braves, and was considered to be the "homerun king" in men's fastpitch softball. But most of all, he loved his family, friends and church family; and that love was reciprocated.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred "Connie" McConathy; mother, Mary Moore Schearer; sisters, Sally Walker, Rebel Shumate and Pat Ridings; brother, Jackie Ridings; son, Chris Davenport and grandson, Hunter Witt.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 45 years, Diane McConathy; daughters, Tara (Jeff) Skeen and Shannon McConathy; sons, Jason (Taffy) Davenport and Ronald McConathy; sisters, Shilo (John) Lampe and Nioka Laxton; brothers, Dickie (Brenda) McConathy and Wayne McConathy; daughter-in-law, Denise Davenport; a bushel of grandchildren and peck of great-grandchildren; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
The family will receive friends 1:00pm until 8:00pm Saturday September 2, 2023 and 1:00pm until service time on Sunday at Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel. Funeral Service will be 3:00pm Sunday September 3, 2023 in the Funeral home Chapel. Tom Dupree, Jason Davenport, and Pastor Sandy Harden officiating. A graveside service will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.
