Alfred C. Sarran Jr.

Alfred C. Sarran, Jr., age 81, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025. He was born on November 20, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Dorothy Lynne LaGrossa Sarran; children, Adam C. Sarran and Angela C. Sarran; grandchildren, Monica Avila, Marcos Avila, and Michael Avila; great-grandchild, Zarin Avila; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Joy Lanning Sarran; his parents, Alfred C. Sarran Sr. and Hilda Marie Simon Sarran; siblings, Corinne Sarran Clark, Charlie Sarran, Hilda Sarran Hayes, and Michael Sarran.
He was a graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School in New Orleans. Al retired from Texas Instruments as a computer field engineer. He worked at the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans as a manager of data systems. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a kind and gentle soul and always willing to help people if he could. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially with his grandchildren. He enjoyed working in and maintaining his yard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. God blessed us with his presence.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Sarran may be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation, St. Joseph's Indian School, the American Legion, or Knight of Columbus (Slidell Council 2732).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial mass on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, 75376 River Road, St. Benedict, Louisiana.
