Robert Raymond Carreras passed away at his home on July 30th, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born in New Orleans and was a lifelong resident of the city. Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with his arrangements.

Robert was married to the late Joy Lowery Carreras for 66 years, and was father of Bret A. Carreras (Gernell), grandfather of Justin T. Carreras (Amy), Nolan M. Carreras, and the late Courtney Carreras, and great-grandfather of Julia Carreras.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joy, his parents John B. Carreras and Mercedes R. Carreras, and his sister Elaine Carreras Touro.

Robert, known as "Slim" by many of his friends, graduated from Nicholls High School and received his Building Trades Drafting certificate from Delgado Trades and Technical Institute. He was manager and then owner of Marrero Blueprint and Supply (Marrero Reproductions) for over five decades. He retired with the COVID epidemic of 2020 at the age of 83.

Robert was a riding member of the Krewe of Okeanos for over 45 years, and served as a Float Lieutenant and Board Member for over 30 years. He managed all of the Krewe's printing needs including the Coronation Ball programs and coordinated the parade's marching bands and bands for all krewe functions for decades.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his services at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home at 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025. Visitation will be from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will follow at 1:30 pm. Father Patrick J. Williams will officiate
