It is with profound sadness that the family of John "Jack" Woulfred Stout, Jr. announces his passing on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Jack passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his devoted wife, Cecilia "Sissy" Collura Stout, and his loving daughter, Susan Stout Ducros.

Jack was a man of many talents and passions. A proud graduate of Nicholls High School, he later served in the United States Army, where he was stationed at Fort Ord in Monterey, California. It was there that he married his lifelong partner of 71 years, Sissy. His time in the Army also took him to Germany, where he spent much of his time playing baseball, but also grew a deep appreciation for different cultures and developed a passion for travel. Those who knew Jack knew him as a man whose curiosity about the world was only rivaled by his devotion to his family.

Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Jack pursued his love of learning, earning both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education from Louisiana State University. He went on to a long and fulfilling career as an educator, teaching at S.J.-.Peters High School & Abramson High School, where he had a lasting impact on many students. Jack's wit, wisdom, and dedication to his students made him a beloved figure in the classroom.

After retiring from teaching, Jack turned his passion for travel into a new venture, working as a travel agent before opening his own travel agency. This career allowed Jack to experience the world with Sis and many of their friends, while creating memories that spanned the globe.

Anyone around Jack encountered his sense of humor, warmth, ability to engage, and keep everyone entertained.

In addition to his wife, Sissy, and daughter, Susan, Jack is survived by his granddaughter, Stephanie Ducros Moullette (Robert), and great-granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth Moullette. He is also survived by his brother Donald V. Stout, Sr. (Rose), extended family, and a host of friends who will miss his lively conversations, sharp wit, and deep love of life.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents John W. Stout, Sr. and Dortohy W. Stout, and his sister Dorothy S. Orth (LP).

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who supported Jack during his life and the difficult days leading up to his passing. His legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 - 2:30 pm, with a prayer service and military honors at 2:30 pm, on Monday, November 18th, 2024, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd. Pass Christian, MS 39571. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, November 19th at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery 34888 Grantham College Dr., Slidell.LA 70460.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you contribute to a cause or activity that promotes self-care and well-being, honoring Jack's spirit of love and care for others.
